Tales from a 4 year old

No pics, but a few stories that are worth sharing...

A few weeks ago, Mere told P that pork comes from a pig. We were eating pork chops one night and P asked if it was from a pig and of course we said yes. Then he asked if the next time we went to the farm we could ask the pig for some pork chops. Mike started to answer and I jumped in with "yes, that is exactly what you can do". 4 is way to young to know the truth, in my opinion.

This morning, P was pretending to be a waiter at a restaurant and was taking our orders. He took our food order and then asked if we wanted salad. We asked what kind he had. He said "chips salad" and "birthday cake salad". Man, if I could eat healthy eating one of those salads, I would have much less holiday weight gain now!

Christmas...

With a 4 year old and 1 year old, of course we had a great Christmas. P was so excited he could hardly stand it. My brother and his family came to visit so we actually had 4 kids under 5 here. Whew!

Jon, Anne and kids arrived the Tuesday before Christmas in Colorado Springs to spend a few days at my parents before they all came here. Their baby boy, M, had been sick and once they got here, ended up in the hospital Thursday morning with viral pnemonia. He stayed until Sunday night. He was on oxygen for the entire trip, but is off of it now and doing fine. So, our original plan of them spending the weekend at our house changed.

Instead, we went to my parents Saturday. Their 2 year old daughter had a blast playing with her cousins.
(There are sledding pictures somewhere that I can't find)

Here is a picture of the girls together. The matching clothes wasn't on purpose, but I had to add the matching pigtails.

Sunday morning we took them all to Chuck E Cheese to run off some energy.

Then Sunday afternoon we brought A back to our house to spend the night.

The rest of the family joined her Monday afternoon. And we had a fun Christmas with the whole crew.

Here is K with her new purse (with a stuffed dog in it!)

And K giving M his bottle. She already loves babies!

Here are Mere and Pere with the grandkids.
And P and K in their Christmas jammies.
On Christmas Eve we had a rare opportunity to have all four cousins together - a great photo opportunity.

Christmas evening we went to the Myers to open more presents. And even eat from a chocolate fountain. Wow!

Super Heros

P loves super heros these days and K does anything her brother does. So the two of them were super heros the other morning.

Mommy and P Day

I took the afternoon off last Wednesday and surprised P with an afternoon for just us. We went to Party On - a local "bounce house" and he had a great time. At first he was freaked out about his routine changing, but quickly got over that. Of course the next morning he asked if we could go again!

Turkey day

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents house in Colorado Springs. M's parents came too so both sets of grandparents were there.

P and K mostly dined on the rolls. P did try the pumpkin pie and a little turkey.

K loves playing with hats. So Pere was thrilled when she picked up his LSU hat.

Turkey hat

P loves doing "centers" at school. They made a turkey hat before Thanksgiving that he loved to show off.

K's hair

K has a lot of hair for an 18 month old. I usually don't have time to do much besides the standard ponytail on top of her head. Miss Carla (our sitter) played beauty parlor the other day and made some darling pigtails!

Decorating for Christmas

We decorated the house for Christmas this weekend. P was very excited to put the angel on top of the tree. K is now enjoying taking the ornaments off the bottom of the tree.

Welcome

I'm hoping to post pics of the kiddos here from time to time. We'll see how I do...
